As part of our commitment to improving access to medical services we are proposing a trial over the next few weeks of an alternative system of appointments.
Starting from 16/1/18 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday you will be offered either:
1) Face-to-face triage appointment with the Nurse Practitioner
2) Telephone triage (which will be either with the Nurse Practitioner or the GP)
3) 1 week appointment with the GP of your choice
4) Out of hours GP hub appointment
Appointments for the following week will be released each day.
In addition to this you are able to leave a message for the GP via reception if necessary.
You are requested that for certain conditions you can self-refer and do not need to see a GP or nurse. These include
- If you need to be booked for pregnancy please either ask reception for a self-referral form or fill the online form found on our Home page.
- If you need counselling please ask at reception
We hope that this new system will enable all those needing on the day attention will be seen and that more appointments will be made available for chronic/ongoing and less urgent care.
We are grateful for your feedback and suggestions both via feedback forms available on Reception desk and via the Patient Participation Group (please see newsletter)
We will keep you posted as to how this new trial appointment system goes!
To make an appointment by phone please dial 01737 303 217. In order to give you an appointment at the most appropriate time, we hope you will accept questions from our receptionists.
Alternatively you can use our integrated on-line service to make an appointment to see a doctor.
EMIS Access allows patients to make and cancel appointments 24 Hours a day without contacting the surgery.
If you would like to use our on-line appointment booking, you will need to register with us first. You can collect a registration form at reception, complete it and return it to the surgery where we will issue your registration letter.
Please note that you will be required to show some form of identification before your details can be released (proof of photo identification required – passport, driver’s licence, national ID or employee ID)
After you have received your registration letter you will be able to access the system.
You can make one GP appointment up to 2 weeks ahead. The complexity of our appointments system means that only routine 10 minute GP appointments can be booked on-line. For all other appointments, please contact the surgery directly. This applies to 5 minute urgent GP appointments, double (or longer) appointments, all practice nurse and health care assistant appointments, and appointments involving both GP and nurse, and includes blood pressures, cervical screening, ante and post natal examinations.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
