Sports & Exercise Medicine Clinic
We are pleased to welcome our Clinical Pharmacist who will be working at the Practice each week supporting the GPs and patients regarding medication.
Trainee Physician Associates
Tadworth Medical Centre is a Training Practice and we are pleased to welcome our Trainee Physician Associates who will be attending one day per week as part of their degree. Part of their training requires them to observe patient consultations with a GP and you may be asked if you are happy to have a trainee in the consultation room if you visit the doctor. If you do not wish to agree to a trainee observe your consultation please inform the Doctor at the time. Thank you.
Preston Community Development Worker
Some of our patients may already know the Preston Community Development Worker, Maria Hewson, who is working hard with residents in the community and hoping to help make the improvements that residents would like to see happen in the area. Maria will be using a room at the Practice on the last Friday of each month, where she will be happy to have a chat with you about her role and the ways in which she is working within the community. If you would like to meet with Maria, please contact her on 07854 171376.

We like to listen
A recent survey showed that many of our patients were not happy with our telephone system. We listened to your complaints and have carried out a full review. We recently installed a new phone system with standard local charges only as well as cutting our 'queue waiting' numbers in order that patients will have their calls answered quicker. We welcome your feedback.
We are unfortunately aware and sorry that our patients are finding it increasingly difficult to get the appointments and services that you would like and expect from us. This is frustrating for us too and we would like to explain the reasons why if we can, as well as assure that we are trying very hard to make sure that we provide you with the best possible care.
As regularly reported in both the National and Local News, you will no doubt be aware that the NHS is under extreme pressure, mainly due to the uphill financial struggle and the increasing amount of patients joining the health service. People are living longer and living with more complex health needs. Unfortunately the investment in general practice has reduced whilst the workload has sharply risen and all these facts add to the pressure of the amount of appointments your GP can safely offer.
Despite all of this, Tadworth Medical Centre are completely committed to providing our patients with the best possible service that we can offer and are always looking for ways to improve where we can. We feel very lucky to have recently recruited our Nurse Practitioner, Chelsea Blake, who is able to work alongside the doctors and offer treatment for your minor medical problems as well work as a Practice Nurse. We are also now offering both early morning and evening routine appointments on certain days to try and help patients who need to see a doctor but have commitments during the normal working day.
We all want the NHS to continue and we work hard to make sure this happens. The NHS is there for us all to use responsibly. Please think about where you can get the most appropriate help for your needs. There are excellent local pharmacies who are able to provide advice, support and over the counter treatments where they can as well as the non emergency NHS 111 telephone service. Patients may call 111 and speak to a trained advisor who will assess and direct you to the best medical for you.
Thank you for taking the time to read this - help us to make sure we are available when you need us most. More importantly, please be assured that as your GP Practice, all at Tadworth Medical Centre are here to help you with your medical needs.
