Welcome to Tadworth Medical Centre

We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.

The Surgery is closed Bank Holidays, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. If you need medical attention please follow the instruction below:

If you need to see a doctor when your GP practice is closed please telephone 01372 738373 (6pm-9pm each weekday and 9am-1pm Saturday and Sunday) to make an appointment in a local GP Hub or alternative call 111 for the non emergency NHS 111 advice service.

PARKING AT THE SURGERY - NEW PARKING BAYS

In our aim to continue to improve the surgery and it's facilities we have recently invested in money in to the car park behind the surgery.  This has helped improve parking with designated parking bays for the use of GP (doctors) only which will enable them to park easily and to have their car readily available should they need to make an emergency home visit. Staff parking bays have also been allocated whereby the staff can 'block' each other creating more spaces to be used by others visiting the surgery if they wish. Please do not use bays that are clearly marked for GP or Staff only. The car park is primarily for staff but patients are very welcome to use any other unmarked available parking bays. Please do not park in the centre of the car park where there are no specific parking spaces as this is dangerous for other users. Free parking available in the surrounding area to the surgery.

FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES

We are very pleased to announce that Tadworth Medical Centre will now be offering women the opportunity to book an appointment to have a contraceptive coil or contraceptive implant fitted with our new locum GP, Dr Liz Horrocks, who will be working at the Practice on Thursday. If you wish to discuss family planning options please discuss with a GP/Nurse first who will give you an advice sheet about making your family planning appointment.

CLINICAL PHARMACIST

We are pleased to welcome our Clinical Pharmacist who will be working at the Practice each week supporting the GPs and patients regarding medication.

Trainee Physician Associates

Tadworth Medical Centre is a Training Practice and we are pleased to welcome our Trainee Physician Associates who will be attending one day per week as part of their degree. Part of their training requires them to observe patient consultations with a GP and you may be asked if you are happy to have a trainee in the consultation room if you visit the doctor. If you do not wish to agree to a trainee observe your consultation please inform the Doctor at the time. Thank you.

SMS Text Service

Tadworth Medical Centre now has the facility to use an SMS text service supplied by Surrey Downs Clinical Commissioning Group. This will send patients a reminder of appointments and enable them to cancel if necessary. The service will also text patients after they have seen a clinician and give the chance to complete a Friends and Family test offering feedback to the surgery. In order for this service to work efficiently please ensure that we hold the correct mobile phone number for you. Your data privacy and security are important to us and have updated our Privacy Notice and terms of use following GDPR Law. We therefore require your consent to text you and you have the option to 'Opt in' or 'Opt out' of this service at any time.

We like to listen

A recent survey showed that many of our patients were not happy with our telephone system to make appointments. We listened to your complaints and have carried out a full review. We are communicating with our telecoms provider to work on improving our call waiting system. We welcome your feedback.

Appointments

We are unfortunately aware and sorry that our patients are finding it increasingly difficult to get the appointments and services that you would like and expect from us. This is frustrating for us too and we would like to explain the reasons why if we can, as well as assure that we are trying very hard to make sure that we provide you with the best possible care.

As regularly reported in both the National and Local News, you will no doubt be aware that the NHS is under extreme pressure, mainly due to the uphill financial struggle and the increasing amount of patients joining the health service. People are living longer and living with more complex health needs. Unfortunately the investment in general practice has reduced whilst the workload has sharply risen and all these facts add to the pressure of the amount of appointments your GP can safely offer.

Despite all of this, Tadworth Medical Centre are completely committed to providing our patients with the best possible service that we can offer and are always looking for ways to improve where we can.  We feel very lucky to have recently recruited our Nurse Practitioner, Chelsea Blake, who is able to work alongside the doctors and offer treatment for your minor medical problems as well work as a Practice Nurse. We are also now offering both early morning and evening routine appointments on certain days to try and help patients who need to see a doctor but have commitments during the normal working day.

We all want the NHS to continue and we work hard to make sure this happens. The NHS is there for us all to use responsibly. Please think about where you can get the most appropriate help for your needs. There are excellent local pharmacies who are able to provide advice, support and over the counter treatments where they can as well as the non emergency NHS 111 telephone service. Patients may call 111 and speak to a trained advisor who will assess and direct you to the best medical for you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this - help us to make sure we are available when you need us most. More importantly, please be assured that as your GP Practice, all at Tadworth Medical Centre are here to help you with your medical needs.
